DID YOU KNOW THERE HAVE BEEN CHANGES TO THE TERMITE MANAGEMENT STANDARDS
As from the 1st of May 2017 builders should only use the 2014 edition of AS 3660.1:2014 for termite management systems.
According to the Australian Standard, all new building work is required to comply.
The most significant change is that chemical spray treatments beneath slabs will no longer be allowed unless they can be replenished via a termite reticulation system.
All termite management systems must last the life time of the building (50 years) and any concrete pours should include the use of pipe penetration collars around all in concrete slab penetrations.
Traditional pre slab spray treatments will only last for 10 years.
